Η Ελληνική Γεωργική Ακαδημία (Ε.Γ.Α.) Ιδρύθηκε  το 2000 και αμέσως έγινε μέλος της Ένωσης Γεωργικών Ακαδημιών Τροφίμων και Περιβάλλοντος της Ευρώπης(UEAA). Τα Ιδρυτικά μέλη της Ε.Γ.Α. ήταν 21 και προήρθαν από τους ευρύτερους επιστημονικούς γνωστικούς χώρους της Γεωργίας, των Δασών, της Κτηνιατρικής, των Τροφίμων και του Περιβάλλοντος.

The first President elected to the A.A.G. was Professor Emeritus of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Prof. George Terzidis and its Vice-President, Prof. Spyros Kyritsis of the Agricultural University of Athens who assumed the presidency during the years 2004-2006.

The Vice-President then elected was Prof. Pantoussis Kaltsikis who took over the presidency during the years 2006-2008 with Vice-President Prof. Emmanuel Rogdakis.

Prof. Emmanuel Rogdakis was President for the years 2008-2010 with Vice-President Professor Emeritus Alexandros Poulovasilis who was became President for the years 2010 - 2012 with Vice-President the honorary professor Spyridon Kyritsis
