Disseminating Innovative Solutions for Antibiotic Resistance Management

DISARM is a thematic network collaboration of 15 Organizations and Institutions from 9 European countries to reduce antibiotic resistance. It is a creative collaboration between farmers, veterinarians, animal scientists, advisory services academics and industry to promote pruden and responsible use of antibiotics in livestock production (dairy cows and sheep, pigs and poultry ) in order to alleviate the threat of antibiotic resistance in European livestock farms.

With the development and then application of the best management practices, and of the most appropriate, for each case, biosecurity measures in the farms, the threat of the microbial resistance to antibiotics will be reduced considerably without any negative effect on their productivity and their economic efficiency.
